Why Blogging is a Way to Give Back?

Is it interesting to think about blogging to give back to the community and the world? Why so? Blogging needs a significant amount of one’s time. To think through, research, and cohesively put together information that is going to be helpful to others. Information that others can use to benefit. It could be as simple as life hacks or something more meaningful. Like getting a vision or direction for what we want to do in our lives.

Does it sound interesting? The core of blogging to me is about “giving back” to the world. So information technology has enabled this medium wherein one can give their time to write and share what could be useful to others at minimal cost. The time one spends is more valuable and sometimes invaluable.

4 Reasons Blogging is Best Way to Give Back

Why Do People Read Blogs? People read blogs essentially to learn and get advice online. They drive this by four types of needs:

Know Why

The why drives the purpose of anything we do or think. It is the fundamental question we try to seek, either consciously or subconsciously, of everything we do, everything that happens to us, or everything that happens around us. Unless we try to understand the why part, we rarely find peace with ourselves. And don’t get the drive, we need to get started. Life is about choices, and why we choose to do it drives what we do. So reading is the primary mode to learn the why part. And here comes blogs, which are essentially a free medium to learn and fuel our inquisitiveness. It is also a path to finding purpose in our lives.

Let’s say, for example, we are considering higher education to augment our careers. The first part we research is why do should get a higher education? What are the benefits? How it will augment our career? Once we feel good about all the reasons we need higher education, the next logical step is to find what are the options.

Learn What?

Blogs are the place to go to learn about what are our choices once we get to know the why part or the purpose. Let get back to our example of higher education, to research on what are the options for higher education. Nothing might be a better resource than blogs to read and do detailed research online. This can help us decide what we really want to study? Which specializations are available? What makes sense and what doesn’t? What can add to the maximum value? And what can provide us with the maximum opportunities?

Learn How

Blogs are one of the best places to find answers to how to do things we don’t know how to do. Some blogs explain step by step how to do or accomplish things once you have decided on what to do. It can be as simple as fixing the home faucet or again getting back to our example of higher studies. After deciding what to study, the next question is the how part. There are tons of good online resources available to learn about how to find a university on how to apply and get started.

Review Products and Services

The other most valuable purpose of blogs is to provide detailed reviews of products and services. Before buying a product or service we look for reviews with pros and cons which help us decide whether to purchase it. It is like looking for feedback online who has either purchased it or has written an unbiased review that can make the potential customer decide.

Conclusion

In summary, blogging is probably the best way to give back. To society, community, and the world. Sharing your knowledge, lessons, feedback, and opinions. That can help anyone know better and decide to get better.

The most valuable thing one can give is one’s time. Writing a blog takes a lot of time and effort. That is the most invaluable way to help someone else selflessly.

Encouragement is what the blogger values most in return. Nothing is more motivating if the blogger could really help. And make a difference to someone else’s life.

What do you think about the post, 4 reasons blogging is the best way to give back? Can we give back to our communities and the world by blogging? Does this make sense? Thoughts?
